From the Press:
Edward William Andrews, son of William and Barbara Andrews, was born February 9, 1873, and departed this life at his home in Hidalgo, Illinois, on December 6, 1923, at the age of 50 years, 9 months, and 27 days. He was married to Ida Bliss on February 17, 1895, and to this union were born four children, Edna, Russell, Paul, and Winnie. Edna preceded him in death in 1916. Besides his wife and children, he leaves a mother, two brothers, John of Rose Hill and Lee of Terre Haute, two grandchildren, and a host of friends.

He was a member of the Woodmen and I.O.O.F. lodges. His early life was spent in buying stock all over Jasper County and the last few years in the merchandise business at Hidalgo. A few days before he called, he said, "I am ready; there is not a cloud. I would rather spend the time on the other side."

The body was taken to the Cummins U.B. Church, where impressive funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. E. Spencer, a schoolmate and life-long friend.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Andrews and family of Terre Haute, Emery Andrews of Mattoon, and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mitchell of Casey were in attendance at the obsequies.
